THE VILLAGE
Just as its name implies, the Village, with more than 30 booths, embrace a center
stage with live music, and offers scrumptious native delicacies, Caribbean cuisine,
exotic desserts and international culinary delights. For the final six nights of
Carnival, one is easily mesmerized and unable to decide from the haunting and tempting
aromas of Carnival pleasure.
No matter from whence you hail, there is something in Carnival Village to tempt
the pallet and induce nostalgia of fine foods of yesteryear. If you are unable to
find your desire at one booth, you will find at the least something similar in one
of the other booths. Fresh preparations daily, “ IT’LL BE FRESH AND HOT – STRAIGHT
FROM THE POT.”
Bands from around the region perform for hours at a time, attracting family, friends
and acquaintances. Old friendships are renewed and past relationships are rekindled.
This is the central meeting ground of the revelers, from which no one ever leaves
hungry or thirsty, or is ever lost. The village offers the finest in fast-service
dining. Remember, it takes a village to savor a Carnival.
Then there is the Children’s Village with Coney Island type amusement rides and
games of chance for the first time or seasoned “player.” The rides usually close
between midnight and 1:00 a.m. However, the live music continues until after 2:00
a.m.
For some the fun is in just meeting and greeting people, while for others it is
the eating, drinking and taking in the fabulous music.
